Sales Manager Hertford.  Our clients seek a Sales Manager to be based at the Hertford Office. The successful Sales Manager will report to the Portfolio Sales Manager / Head of Sales and be responsible for selling and managing two events a year, working collaboratively with a team of sales representatives

Sales Manager Role Summary

The overall role of the Sales Manager is to sell and manage two events a year. To motivate and manage Delegate Sales Executives assigned to the event to ensure that the confirmed delegates are of the highest calibre. To research and confirm key moderators / speakers and arrange an educational seminar programme and opening presentation. As Sales Manager you will encourage and maintain the highest standard of professionalism in the office and at events at all times.

Key Responsibilities of the Sales Manager

  • Manage and increase event data via CRM
  • Hit and exceed all targets
  • To identify and source new business opportunities
  • Meet and exceed set KPI’s across call rates, new prospects and targets
  • Set and achieve weekly goals and targets set as part of a team
  • Cold calling to maintain a consistent pipeline of prospects
  • Follow up incoming lead generation prospects from marketing and data team
  • Account manage existing clients and cross sell into other events where relevant
  • Host face to face meetings with new and existing business
  • Upsell sponsorship opportunities and bespoke solutions for clients
  • To attend industry relevant events to promote and represent your brands
  • Knowledgeable of all targeted products
  • Knowledgeable of competitor and industry sectors
  • Work collaboratively as part of your portfolio team to exceed portfolio targets and tasks set
  • Identify opportunities to cross sell into other products within the business
  • Work closely with Head of Sales and Portfolio manager on the business development of your events and additional products
  • Manage and maintain all event administration
  • Attend and work your own events plus other events
  • To attend and support individual and team events to deliver high service standards
  • Work closely with industry partners to increase exposure of brands

Skills of the Sales Manager:


  • Minimum of 1 year in previous sales role with cold calling experience
  • Demonstrate success in hitting targets
  • Demonstrate success in securing new business in a sales environment
  • Previous use of a CRM system


  • Worked in exhibitions sales or recruitment
  • Experience of working on new business project
  • Launched a new service or offering successfully
  • Experience of working to KPI’s
  • Experience in face to face meetings and presentations

Sales Manager Benefits

Contractual Status is Full Time
alary / Commission: £20k – £25k Basic (depending on experience) + commission OTE £40k+
